The word "ikebana" comes from the Japanese words “ikeru” (to arrange, be living, or have life) and “hana” (flower). Ikebana is also known as “kado”, which means "the way of flowers"

In my class, we study Ikenobo Ikebana, the oldest and most traditional school of Japanese flower arranging.

Ikebana Class

The class is usually 2-5 people with beginners to intermediate student students. I’ve taught students of all ages, from 7 years old to 94 years old. We get to know each other through flower arranging and enjoy learning together! If you are interested in the class, please feel free to visit.

The class is two hours long and costs $35. This includes floral materials, which I will provide for the first few lessons. Tools and containers needed for the lessons will also be available for use during class. (When you have learned enough to begin your own materials, the lesson price goes down to $20 per class.

The class is held at Orbit Space art gallery in Tanger Outlets Asheville.

Ikenobo Professor 3rd Grade

I began studying Ikenobo Ikebana in 2009 with my teacher Emiko Suzuki. Through studying Ikebana, I've come to appreciate the quiet beauty of plants and trees, and have developed a deep love for them. I've had the opportunity to encounter many beautiful and genuine things and meet incredible people along the way. I’m looking forward to what Ikebana will bring in the future.

If you're interested, feel free to message me. I believe you'll have an experience where time fades away as you connect with beautiful flowers and trees.
